Powerless wire vs. Wireless power

Wordplay aside, what’s the difference?

A wire can certainly deliver all the power a device might need. But a wire is limiting to the device. It limits how much the device can stray away from the power outlet. It limits where the device can be used and what effort might be needed to install it, or hide that wire. Indeed, the wire makes the device – and its owner – somewhat powerless.

Wireless power on the other hand delivers less power than can be had with a wire. But in return, it delivers freedom. Remember how good it was to start using cordless and then mobile phones instead of corded phones? Think how much freedom of movement we enjoy because our computers have wireless Internet as opposed to wired connections. That’s the same kind of freedom that wireless power deliver.
